ONLY GOD CAN MAKE US RIGHTEOUS, AND THIS GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE REASON WHY CHRIST CAME!
WE PUT SO MUCH EMPHASIS ON THE POWER OF SIN AND UNDERMINE THE POWER OF GRACE. WE CANNOT OUT-SIN GOD’S GRACE!
(Romans 5:20) “The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.”
ONLY GOD CAN MAKE US RIGHTEOUS, AND THIS GIFT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THE REASON WHY CHRIST CAME!
(Romans 5:17) “For if, by the trespass of the one man (Adam), death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.”
ABRAHAM, ISAAC AND JACOB LIVED SOME 430 YEARS BEFORE THE LAW (TEN COMMANDMENTS OR THE OLD COVENANT OF THE LAW) WAS GIVEN TO MOSES AND YET THEIR FAITH WAS CREDITED TO THEM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS!
(Gal 3:6-7) “Consider Abraham: He believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. Understand, then, that only those who believe are children of Abraham.
JOSEPH THE SON OF JACOB WAS ABLE TO RESIST THE TEMPTATION OF SLEEPING WITH HIS MASTER’S WIFE WHEN HE WAS SEDUCED BY HER. YET THE LAW WAS NOT YET GIVEN DURING HIS TIME.
(Gen 39:6b-9) “Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, and after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!"
But he refused………….No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?"
IT IS THEREFORE POSSIBLE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE WITHOUT THE LAW AND STILL BE FOUND RIGHTEOUS IN GOD’S SIGHT BY FAITH. SUCH IS THE ESSENCE OF THE NEW COVENANT OF GRACE THAT CHRIST MEDIATED.
GOD CANCELED THE LAW AND ALL ITS REGULATIONS!
(Col. 2:14) “He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.”
GOD CREDITS RIGHTEOUSNESS BY FAITH AND NOT THROUGH YOUR OBEDIENCE TO THE LAW!
(Romans 4:23-24) “The words "it was credited to him" were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.”
THERE IS A RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD, APART FROM LAW, TO WHICH THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS TESTIFY.
(Romans 3:21-22) “But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.

THOSE WHO HAVE FAITH ARE BLESSED ALONG WITH ABRAHAM!

ALTHOUGH THE NEW COVENANT PEOPLE “DIED TO THE IMPUTATION OF SIN” JUST AS JESUS CHRIST “DIED TO THE IMPUTATION OF SIN” THEY ARE ADMONISHED NOT TO LET SIN REIGN IN THEIR MORTAL BODIES!

Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.”
THE APOSTLE PAUL’S ANSWER TO HIS IMAGINARY CRITICS WAS HOW CAN SOMEONE WHO DIED TO THE IMPUTATION OF SIN, SIN?

WE DIED TO THE LAW (“MR LAW”) OUR OLD HUSBAND AND WE ARE NOW MARRIED TO CHRIST (“MR. GRACE”) OUR NEW HUSBAND!
(Romans 7:4) “So, my brothers, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit to God.”
RELYING ON THE LAW WILL ALIENATE YOU FROM GOD’S GRACE.
(Galatians 5:4) “You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.”
NOW THAT FAITH HAS COME, WE ARE NO LONGER UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE LAW
(Gal 3:25) “Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law."
WE DIED TO THE LAW (“MR LAW”) OUR OLD HUSBAND AND WE ARE NOW MARRIED TO CHRIST (“MR. GRACE”) OUR NEW HUSBAND!
