Many Christians misunderstood the meaning of “RESIST”
What does RESIST means here.
Resist - to withstand
Withstand - remain undamaged or unaffected by or NOT MINDING.
DON’T MIND THE DEVIL. He is not worth of thinking.
Always remember he was already a DEFEATED FOE
“And having disarmed the powers and authorities, HE made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.” (Colossians 2:15)
We are not commanded to fight the devil. The devil has no power over us. His only power is deception and the power we give him so “do not give the devil a foothold.” (Ephesians 4:27)
Do we really want to fight a defeated enemy? If we do, we will be look fool and he will just laugh at us. If we do, it’s simply saying to Jesus “Your work is not enough, You don’t completely defeated him”
If we do, Jesus finished work on the cross becomes useless.
Remember, we are the SHEEP and JESUS IS OUR SHEPHERD. It is the shepherd who fights on the lions and wolves. The sheep put their FULL TRUST IN THE SHEPHERD.
What God wants us to do is to REST, TRUST and have FAITH on JESUS. HIS FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS. He already done EVERYTHING what we cannot do. What left to us, is to REST IN HIM.
Instead of thinking what the devil can do to you, think of what JESUS DID TO HIM.
DON'T LIVE YOUR LIFE AS IF CHRIST ACCOMPLISHED NOTHING!
