Rom. 3:27-28
“Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.”
BOASTING IS EXCLUDED IN THE LAW OF FAITH AND WE ARE ADMONISHED TO LIFE BY FAITH.
Rom. 1:17
“For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’”
FURTHERMORE, WE BECAME SLAVES TO RIGHTEOUSNESS WHEN WE BELIEVED THE DOCTRINE OF THE NEW COVENANT; THE DOCTRINE OF GOD’S GRACE.
Rom. 6:17-18
“But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.”
THE LAW - MAKES YOU SELF-CONSCIOUS.
GRACE - MAKES YOU CHRIST-CONSCIOUS.
UNDER LAW - GOD DEMANDS RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM MAN.
UNDER GRACE - GOD PROVIDES RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR MAN.
UNDER LAW - THE BURDEN IS ON YOU TO PERFORM.
UNDER GRACE - THE BURDEN IS ON WHAT CHRIST HAS PERFORMED ON THE CROSS.
UNDER LAW - EVERYTHING DEPENDED ON MAN AND HIS OBEDIENCE.
UNDER GRACE - EVERYTHING DEPENDS ON JESUS’ OBEDIENCE AND WHAT HE DID ON THE CROSS.
UNDER LAW EVERY GOOD THING YOU RECEIVE IS BECAUSE OF YOUR OBEDIENCE.
UNDER GRACE WE RECEIVE EVERYTHING BECAUSE OF THE OBEDIENCE OF JESUS.
REMEMBER, THE WILL OF THE FATHER IS CHRIST-CENTERED
John 6:40
